1 Peter 3:1-7 – We are missionaries – Mp3 (Right click to download)

Purpose: The way Christian husbands and wives treat each other is meant to be a beautiful picture of the Gospel to each other and the world around them.

 We are all missionaries

Our world’s picture of marriage is warped – and unfortunately our marriages in the church are sometimes traced on that warped picture.

We are called and challenged to trace our lives – our whole lives – even our married lives on the example Jesus has left us.

We need to view marriage as a wonderful gift from God – just one of the gifts that he wants us to use for his glory. Our marriages are a missionary tool.

Missionary wives

A submissive wife is a beautiful wife – beautiful to her husband – beautiful to the world around her – and greatly glorifying to God.

Is the way you relate to your husband God glorifying?”

Missionary husbands

Treating our wives as precious gifts from God is greatly glorifying to God – because it shows that the power of God is greater than the power of your own sinful nature.

Perhaps husbands you may need to repent – you may need to study your wife more closely – seek to understand her more – so that you can honour her appropriately. God will be glorified through this.

How can we as husbands better understand our wives for God’s glory?

Missionary marriages

Our marriages should be a great tool that we use to point others to King Jesus.

Our marriages should bring great glory to God.

Let’s guard our marriages – for God’s glory. Submitting for God’s glory. Honouring for God’s glory.

Let’s be much in prayer for our marriages – praying that God would glorify himself through us.
