Jumping for joy (39 – 45)
The blessed Lord is coming believe and be blessed. This news should cause you to jump for joy just like the unborn John did.
Magnificent mercy (46 – 56)
The blessed Lord will show magnificent mercy to the poor, hungry and humble who fear him – while the mighty, rich and proud will end up empty.
This is going to radically effect the way I view worldly riches. It must challenge the many areas of pride in my life.
I need to see Jesus as infinitely more valuable than anything this world can offer me – I need to fear him – to have a reverent, humble obedience that seeks to please God.
If I am seeking to please God – If I want the world to know of the ultimate blessing that is found in him alone – then the so called “blessings” of health, wealth, prosperity, prestige will not grab my attention as the world wants them to.
Those thrones are going to come tumbling down – those riches will be left behind – the proud who gather together to boast to one another will be scattered.
But the humble, hungry, God fearing servants of God will be lifted up in God’s magnificent mercy – This is the truly blessed life – believe it.
