Flash forward (6 – 23)
This section is a flash forward to 50 years later when God’s people faced more opposition. This serves to show that opposition is a normal experience for those who are doing God’s work.
Troubled enough to stop
The passage ends on a sad note as God’s people didn’t stand up under the opposition and the work God had called them to do stopped.
This should be a great warning to us all – How will we respond in the face of opposition to the work God has called us to do?
