Praised by all! (14 – 15)
Jesus, in the power of the Spirit, now begins His public ministry and he is greeted exactly how you would hope he would be greeted – Everyone is glorifying Him – They are treating Him as God alone deserves to be treated, which is exactly right.
The Saviour’s Manifesto (16 – 21)
Jesus returns home and lays out His manifesto. He is the fulfilment of Scripture, He is the anointed one, and He is the ultimate Good News to the spiritually poor, enslaved, blind and oppressed.
Preach it and Stand amazed! (22)
Jesus’ focus is on preaching this good news and ours should be the same. Luke wants us to stand amazed, with a growing certainty that Jesus is the promised one our world so desperately needs. And then we are to speak well of Him.
