Good news to the poor

Jesus is the long awaited fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy. He is the servant King who has brought in the year of the Lord’s favour.

Different responses

The people’s initial excitement is soon replaced by violent rejection because they won’t accept that Jesus is the one that they desperately need.

Now what?

This passage is challenging us not to respond like the people of Nazareth but rather to admit that we are the poor who so desperately need the Good news that Jesus brings.

Preach this Good News with certainty to yourself, to one another, and to the world.
