(There was a problem with the original recording. This is an office rerecording.)

Theme sentence: When the Son of God speaks things happen.

Aim sentence: Bow to Jesus as the all-powerful and authoritative King. Make His purpose your purpose.

Words of authority (31–37)

Jesus Words have authority not just to move and amaze people, but also over the destructive power of Satan in people’s lives.

Words of power (38–41)

Jesus Words have power over sickness and Satan as we see the Jesus undoing the effects of the fall.

Jesus makes the sadness come untrue.

Words of purpose (42–44)

Jesus makes it clear why He has come. He has come to preach the Good News of the kingdom of God. God’s King is here.

Now what?

This passage calls for two responses.

Firstly, acknowledge the power and authority of the Word of Jesus and put yourself under His authority.

Secondly, for those who have bowed to Jesus as King, His purpose must become our purpose. Preach the good news of the Kingdom.
