Theme sentence: Paul is proof that the Gospel of grace is powerful to transform.

Aim sentence: Remember just how powerful the Gospel is – stand amazed at the transformation it brings – and fight for it.

An unlikely appointment (12 – 14)

Paul was a very unlikely appointee for Christ’s service.

Hope for all (15 – 17)

If the Gospel could transform Paul then it can transform anyone.

Charged to fight (18 – 20)

In verses 3 and 5 Timothy had been charged to stop the unhealthy teaching and to restore sound teaching.

Paul strengthens that charge by urging Timothy to fight to hold on to faith and good conscience.

Now what?

If Jesus could save people like Paul then there is hope for anyone. But if we want to keep the Gospel in our church we are going to have to fight for it.
