Aim sentence: All the problems we see in life under the sun can be puzzling – but what we see isn’t the ultimate and final reality. Listening to God will help us keep the right perspective.
I saw (4:1 – 16)
Chapter 4 focuses in on a number of troubling things that Mr Teacher SEES. This is the reality of life here under the sun. The oppression, laziness or workaholism, loneliness, and problems in government are a sad but normal reality here under the sun.
Listen (5:1)
5:1 shifts from seeing to listening. If we want to understand the enigma of this life under the sun we desperately need God’s perspective!
I saw (Revelation 21:1-4)
In Revelation, the Apostle John also writes “I saw” and what He saw is the ultimate and final reality.
Now what?
All the problems we see in life under the sun can be puzzling – but what we see isn’t the ultimate and final reality. Listening to God will help us keep the right perspective – The best is yet to come!
